Cautious Optomism

So, I mentioned in my daybook that Alex went in for vision testing last week.  We had our eval meeting with the doctor earlier this week.

Wow.

So, all this time, with all the difficulty he had reading, when he’d break down in frustration doing work he “didn’t want to do”, every time he sat down and rubbed at his eyes incessantly….

It really was tough.  Really, really tough.  As in, the headaches and stomach aches came from his frustration with the work.  The doctor explained that what he did accomplish, he did because he was putting in so much work, so much effort, and here I was, complaining that he wasn’t trying.

Mother of the year, right here.

The good news is, this is “treatable.”  The dr. said that he’ll be able to work with Alex, and we’ll get his eyes back on track, making all this paperwork waaaay easier for him.

And, apparently, I’ve got one heck of a hard worker on my hands.  For his sake, I can’t wait.
